Holidays in Savannah

We are the city in the snow globe, minus the snow!

Savannah is like a village in a Norman Rockwell painting with better weather, and during the Holidays, we put on quite a show.

Shopping!

We have beautiful streets dedicated to shopping.
  • Broughton has shops and restaurants from one-end to the other, and it has been completely refreshed.
  • Historic River Street has a vast and diverse array of shopping and dining options. Time it right, and you may even get to see the boat parade of lights!
  • Whitaker Street offers upscale shops with unique art, home goods, and antiques. Follow it from the river to Forsyth Park and enjoy the sites along the way.

Entertainment!

Savannah is bursting with entertainment.
  • Enjoy musicals and plays at our historical theaters, or concerts and hockey at our new Enmarket arena.
  • You can catch the Savannah Philharmonic in a free neighborhood concert, or plan to catch one of the Live Nation concerts or Big Comedy Network shows at the Plant Riverside District.
Each of these venues has a full calendar of Holiday entertainment!

Island Lights!

If you want to see one of the most spectacular Holiday light displays in the South, take a day trip to Jekyll Island.
  • Drive through miles of live oaks dripping with lights, plus other Holiday displays across the island. While you are there, stop by to wander the grounds of the Historic Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
  • Venture across the Sydney Lanier bridge to take in even more sites on St. Simons Island and stop to have a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants.

New Years!

In Savannah, we love to celebrate, so you can bet we will throw a huge New Year’s party.
  • Take a New Year’s riverboat cruise on the Savannah River
  • Head to Tybee Island to see the fireworks display or stay on the riverfront for a dazzling display.
  • Join the City Market New Year’s Eve Block Party
  • You don’t have to guzzle your drinks. Aluminum cups are available to take your drink with you anywhere in the Historic District, but drink responsibly!
